Like most Mammies, we are starting to get ready for Back to school in September. It takes that long to get our kids sorted!

So if you have any tips for saving a few quid or things that might make getting them ready for September a bit easier, please share on here.

First up, Name It Marshes Shopping Centre have winter coats in stock now. Super warm and perfect for school! For boys & girls, €32.99 and these are the kind of coats you can pass down to the next child (as we have done many times with Name It winter coats for our 3 girls!)

Again this year, Mumstown is recommending Bestwear Shop St. Drogheda for school uniforms. We have been going into Keiran for the past few years for school uniforms and here is why we want to give him a big recommendation:

    1. They are a local business, employing local staff. By buying local you keep money circulating in our area, which is good for all of us.
    2. They carry school uniforms for 42 schools in Drogheda and its surrounding areas, including Laytown, Bettystown, Tullyallen etc.
    3. They are cheaper than the shops in Dublin that some schools recommend to parents, as their preferred uniform supplier.
    4. The uniforms are excellent quality and last really well (we have passed tracksuits and other items down between siblings over the past few years and they have really stood the test of time)
    5. Their customer service is very good. They do not try to oversell and if they don't have what you need, they will do their best to get it for you.
    6. This year, they have started an embroidery emblem service. You can now buy a plain jumper or tracksuit from them and they will add on the school crest for just €3 extra. (If you bring a plain tracksuit or jumper from somewhere else, it will be €5 to have the crest put on, which we think is still very good value)

Menswear is on Shop St in Drogheda and you can call in for advice on uniforms or you can phone Kieran and the lads on 041-9836036.

Top marks from us for quality, price and service.

Life Style Sports introduces The Black List

- #TheBlackList #TrainerCentral

With the epic Summer100 season wrapping up, it’s time to get back on track and start thinking school, college and all things new season! If you want to go all black, but still want to express your personal style, you need the best selection of all black kicks and the new Life Style Sports campaign celebrates back to season a little differently, thanks to The Black List. The Black List at Life Style Sports represents an extensive range of quality triple black footwear available in store and online at www.lifestylesports.com giving people the choice and versatility to express their own fashion sense in school, college or hanging out with their mates.

Introducing the very best of heritage-inspired new-season pieces, perfect for those street stylin’ guys and athleisure addicts who want to keep things fresh while making a statement. Black kicks are where it’s at for the inevitable return to routine, especially for those who want to avoid a more traditional, and let’s face it – dull, option. Life Style Sports has an A-plus collection of top trainers from international brands, adidas Originals, Nike and Vans.

*** adidas Swift Run ***
Unveiled earlier this month, the latest adidas Swift Run (€90) in triple black will definitely be one for major sneaker geeks on the Black List who want to create serious ‘scenes’ on their Insta. This is the latest offering from the home of three stripes, the Swift Run Primeknit is a mixture of a sock-like Primeknit upper, with a more traditional mesh build. The shoe sits on top of a foam sole until and that iconic three stripe branding is the pride of place and perfect for those Instagram #SneakerSelfies.

*** adidas Tubular Shadow ***
Inspired by the iconic ’93 runner, the adidas Tubular Shadow (€100) is engineered to push boundaries! These trainers redefine street sneaks, taking cues from the adidas archives to create fresh, new style! With a breathable knit upper and an all-black design for a contemporary look, the Tubular Shadow is finished with a snug burrito tongue for a comfortable fit. The Tubular outsole is iconic in itself and screams boldness and cutting edge, especially for guys who like achieve top grades in the style stakes.

*** Nike Cortez ***
The Nike Cortez (€80) screams attitude but with a timeless style that been around for decades. The Nike Cortez has come a long way from its humble beginnings and is without a doubt the undisputed must-have for sneakerheads, no matter the colourway. It’s not just about style, the substance holds its own too – the nylon, leather upper and EVA midsole are stable, durable cushioning when you’re bouncing from college or work to gyms sessions and back. These classic kicks are key for any guy looking to impress his mates this season.

*** Nike Presto Fly ***
Like a t-shirt for your feet, the Nike Presto Fly (€100) will keep any uniform looking fresh straight through to next term. The sleek black design combines style and comfort for a sporty everyday shoe and the flexible mesh upper moves naturally with the foot but remains supportive even when running late. The pull tab on the heel is perfect for kicking off to catch up on Insta Stories after a hectic day.

*** Vans Old Skool ***
In 1977, the Vans Old Skool (€70) became the first skate shoe to incorporate leather panels for added durability. This detail soon became an iconic design and saw the shoe soar to classic status that has evolved and continued to be coveted through each decade ever since, arguably at its peak during the 90s. Guys who like to stand out from the crowd will love this punk inspired option as the decade sees a major revival, while it’s cult style doubles and a classic black options everytime!

We got our 12 year old (who is size 5.5, so basically an adult!) a pair of Nike in Lifestyle Sports yesterday on sale for €45. They were the ones she wanted and she has to have black runners (black or white only) for school so we were delighted with these!

That was in Marshes, they've some good stuff in their sale. Well worth a look.
