Welcome to Airfield
Airfield is a charitable organisation established by the Overend Family in 1974 for educational and recreational purposes.
Our 38 acre working farm, gardens, café and heritage experience offer visitors a wonderful opportunity to enjoy and learn about food, farming and the natural world in a natural and relaxed environment.

Heritage and Garage
There are many stories to hear and tell about our benefactors, Letitia and Naomi Overend all of which can be discovered in a wonderful interactive Heritage Experience in their family home.

Farm and Woodlands
Our farmers, are on hand throughout the day to help guide you through the workings of the farm, from daily milkings, to egg collecting, mucking out and feeding.

Gardens
Both Letitia and Naomi were very successful gardeners and were actively involved in planning, planting and caring for flowers, fruit and vegetables.

Airfield Estate is a fabulous farm and garden centre in Dundrum, with fairy mounds, higgledy piggledy walkways, loads of space to run around and gorgeous flowers and scenery.
Perfect family picnic destination! We loved it when we visited.

For more see: http://www.airfield.ie/

Here are some pics of how we got on there!

We visited Airfield for the first time yesterday and had a great day out - highly recommended if you're stuck for something to do over the Easter break. The park is like a hidden oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Dundrum and we were given a handy map to guide us around. It's much bigger than you would expect and it's so well presented, with little signs explaining everything from the flowers to the trees and the animals. Apart from the magnificent gardens, there is also mini-farm, a playground for kids and there are fun lawn games too. It's well worth visiting the house where the owners lived all their life. It's so interesting to read about the family, the Overends, they have done a superb job of giving us background into the lives of the 2 wealthy but generous sisters with photos, artefacts, stories and they even have their 3 old cars on display! Well worth a day out and be sure to visit the Overends Cafe for a bit to eat - simply delicious :)
