In the latest attempt at getting our government - and the stuck in the mud men who mostly run it - to sit up and take notice of our abortion laws, two women have been live tweeting their journey to the UK for an abortion. It is sad and harrowing but I think they are so brave to do this because it is making headlines all over the world and showing how much we are still ruled by the Catholic Church in Ireland

One of the women is having the abortion in the UK because she cannot have it here and her friend is travelling with her for support and they have been live tweeting about it since they started their journey yesterday in Ireland

Messages of support for the women are largely coming from other women (though there are some men supporting them, including James Corden, Graham Linehan and some other high profile men) and the messages of disdain and abuse are largely coming from men.

Men are saying that unless this woman was raped or a victim of incest, she should not be allowed to do this.

Women are saying that this woman is a person who has rights and she should be able to do what is right for her.

The tweeting has gone global and had gained support from lots of countries around the world.

What do you think about it? Should we have choice about abortion here?
