There is a remembrance service that takes place in Dublin each year in November, where anyone from any religion can come along and remember their babies. It is not a very religious service, it is more about honouring and remembering the babies we lost.

It is a really lovely service with beautiful music and everyone gets to light a candle for their baby(ies) that they place on the altar in memory of their baby and then, you can take your candle home afterwards. We go most years and find it a very nice way to remember the babies we lost.

Anyone is welcome, its a free event. Here are the details about that - Sunday 9 November 2014 at 3pm, St Theresa's Church, Donore Avenue, Dublin 8

Well done and thank you to everyone at the Miscarriage Association for organizing a beautiful, emotional, poignant service of remembrance today.

I must admit, I shed a few tears for our two babies who we lost....but it was nice to be able to have a little cry in the company of others who were remembering and grieving for the babies they lost too.

And the music was so beautiful - 'In the arms of the angels' and 'Somewhere over the rainbow' were especially moving.

Lovely to catch up with members of the association and other parents we have come to know over the years from these precious get-togethers.

Thanks again to all involved, it was very therapeutic.

For anyone who missed yesterday's service and wants to pick up one of the Christmas decorations for their Christmas tree, to remember their baby, you can buy them from Newbridge Silverware here: http://www.newbridgesilverware.com/occa ... l+ornament

It is a small way to acknowledge your baby at Christmas and to include him/her in the event. Its sad but for us, we like to hang those decorations together as a family and say a word or two about our babies. It makes me feel like the babies are kind of with us.

If you wish, you can send your baby's details into www.miscarriage.ie and ask them to add your baby's details in their book of remembrance. You can add a little message too if you would like. This is a way to have your baby officially recognized.
