Last week my aunt died very suddenly. She had been going through treatment for cancer and the chemo seemed to be working and we were feeling optimistic but then, she got a blood clot all of a sudden and she died very suddenly on Thursday.

She was my Dad's sister and lived across the road from us growing up, so we have known her very well all our lives.

We had her funeral yesterday and because she was only 61 and a much loved character, the church was packed to the rafters.

My own mam just turned 61 and l cant imagine how l would cope if anything happened to her.

l am feeling drained and very sad about it today...my poor cousins and uncle are devastated and my Dad is heart broken.

life is so cruel sometimes....just when we thought she was getting better, something unexpected came along and killed her.

Life can be so cruel at times.

Was thinking did you have communion over the weekend too

yep, we had communion saturday so we had to put it out of our minds as much as we could and make the day special for our daughter. my mam & dad, even though they were very upset, managed to have a good day for our daughter and we all managed a few laughs.

in some ways, the release of having a few drinks saturday really helped.

we had the removal sunday night and funeral monday morning, so we did all our crying then.

My mam just turned 61 and l would be lost without her. My cousins are devastated and l can understand why.

l know its the way life goes - unpredictable - but still feeling quite sad about it.
