Christ i feel like the biggest moany hole ever but i need to vent so I'm gonna go for it here!- have been sick with a viral bug for over a week now coughing and spluttering non stop- so much so that i haven't been able to sleep at night- im beyond exhaustion now, i continued to work and was so bad on Sat that i got sick 3 times due to the fact that i couldn't stop coughing.

I went to the Dr this am and she has signed me off for the rest of the week and given me steroid tablets that she said will help ease the inflammation and help me sleep.

Rant over!- i really am not a good patient  feeling very sorry for myself

Rant away...that's what Mumstown is for!!!!

Sounds horrid. I guess you're stressed because you have to rest. You have to because you are so sick but its hard for us mammies to stop and rest.

I have been off my feet for over 2 weeks now since my knee surgery. I thought I'd be back driving after a week (deluded! It will be 5 weeks before I'm driving!) and I am going bananas here! I want to be driving, Christmas shopping and doing all the things that need doing but I can't and its driving me nuts

But, my husband has been great and is forcing me to rest because ultimately, if I don't, I won't heal properly.

So, you need to sleep, rest and do nothing for the rest of the week and its so hard but you have to do it.

Its ok to rant and be fed up, its horrible being sick but you've got to take care of yourself and get well.

So, feet up, box sets on and lots of sleep and cups of tea and pajamas.

Hope you'll be feeling better by the weekend. xx

Haileysmum you have more than earned the right to have a moan! Between worrying about your little lady and being sick yourself. Sorry the appointment didn't go so well for Hailey. Hopefully they can do something to help her. Kids can be cruel and unfortunately we can't gag them or string them up even though that is precisely what we want to do when our little one is on the receiving end. Sometimes the only thing we can do is help our children to be resistant. And of course look after ourselves so we can be strong for them. So like sabbi says, feet up, box sets on and give yourself some well earned time to recover from sickness and stresses.

Thanks Sabbi & Allyj- I'm just so exhausted, still didn't sleep again last night, pharmacist said that it could take till tonight for the steroids to kick in, I was up from 1-4 am watching rubbish on TV as I was just coughing non stop and couldn't sleep, if I could just sleep I think things would be easier- it just been a really emotional week with my sisters situation and the outcome from Haileys appointment with consultant so I think im just running on empty- I hope I see some improvement soon

can you get a prescription for a few nights for sleeping tablets? if its short term, it will really help you. Ask the doc and even get them to email the prescrition to you or your local pharmacy.

HTH :)

There will be a lovely box of goodies heading your way next week, should cheer you up. xxx

I got some sleep last night yay!-so the steroids must have kicked in. i still feel shite but the relief of actually getting some sleep has really helped my mental sanity.
