We really like to support local businesses so we decided to give Keith at Wildes blinds a call and see if we could get what we needed at a good price.

He came around and had a great selection of blinds and he was really nice and friendly and not at all pushy. He showed us loads of styles and one in particular caught our eye for our living room, its a burgundy silk finish roller blind. We have a burgundy sofa and some burgundy in the wallpaper and this blind looked great up against the window, so we decided to go for it.

A bit 'out there' but we like to be different so we went for it. It was very reasonably priced - even though it is one of the more expensive fabrics - and we had it up on the window within a week! It looks so nice and we are chuffed with it.

Of course, it won't be everyone's cup of tea but we did go for a more softer tone in our study of a gentle brown & cream blind and this is so nice too and this was cheaper as well and this is a more mainstream choice.

We had roman blinds in both these rooms and they were a nightmare as the strings kept getting tangled so it is a relief to have proper blinds that actually work again and now, if the sun is coming in or we just want the blind down to have some privacy or watch some TV, its easy peasy.

The blinds are also child safe with a weak link in the chain so that a child cannot be hurt in an accident. The chain will simply break if too much pressure is put on it and with children still being hurt or worse in Ireland each year because of old, dangerous blinds, we are really happy we have updated ours.

Keith also cleaned up after himself, took our old blinds away and was in and out within an hour having installed our 4 new blinds.

Literally cannot recommend him highly enough.

New thermal shutters fitted in killester during the week. These shutters are designed not only for noise reduction and light control during the summer but will prevent heat loss in the winter.
