The lovely girls at Wheaton Montessori Academy in Drogheda https://www.facebook.com/WheatonMontessoriAcademy have put together this very clever Chore chart to show what kind of chores children should be doing around the home, depending on their age.

I was pretty surprised by it but definitely going to make more of an effort to get the kids to do more chores that they should be able to for their age:

I've seen the chart before - my girls do plenty of the chores although not regularly enough. The both keep the rooms clean, make their own beds, sort out pants and socks, put their clothes in wash etc etc
They occasionally set the table, never leave it without bringing their dishes to the sink.
The 8yr old helps empty the dishwasher and makes tea/coffee under supervision
Must print it out and get them doing a bit more

Can we get your girls over here to show our lot how its done!!

Ah to be fair, ours do their bit too. Today I got the 9 & 7 year olds to strip their beds and the 11 year old brought down laundry and unloaded washing machine when it was done.

Our 3 yr old loves to help set the table and she tries - bless her - to make her bed. It does be done all wrong but the fact she tries is great!

Must show this to them - will make for an interesting conversation I reckon!
